The One Thing for AI assistants
The One Thing includes a secure remote MCP server. Connect it once, choose the permissions you are comfortable with, and let your assistant capture and complete tasks alongside you.
https://mcp.theonethingapp.com Connect in three steps
Any remote MCP client with OAuth support can connect. The exact button names vary by client, but the flow is the same.
Open your assistant’s MCP or connector settings and add https://mcp.theonethingapp.com as a remote server.
Your browser opens a secure authorisation page. Sign in with the same account you use in the app.
Approve read access, write access or both. You can revoke the connection later.
Less task admin
Ask your assistant to capture something before you forget it, tell you the current priority, review recent momentum or complete a task. Every action stays tied to your signed-in account and the permissions you approved.
Available tools

What stays protected
The connection uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Sign-in happens on The One Thing’s own secure authorisation page, and the client receives a revocable token—not your password.
User-scoped dataEvery read and action is restricted to the signed-in user.
Explicit permissionsRead and write scopes are shown before you approve access.
Destructive actions labelledTask deletion is explicitly marked destructive for supporting clients.
Same product rulesFree-plan limits and Pro-only editing still apply through MCP.
